How Being On Time And Being Organized Can Help You Succeed

There are a lot of different factors that come into play when it comes to being successful. Today, let’s focus on two of them (being organized and being on time) that can make a huge difference in your day-to-day life. Think back on some of the most successful people you’ve met in your own life. The chances are they were good at both of these - organized and on time. There’s a reason why both of these factors will make such a big difference when it comes to being successful.

Both being on time and organized can help you make the best possible use of your time and energy. When referring to energy, it includes both mental and physical energy. We have a limited supply of both along with being restricted to 24 hours on a given day. In other words, both time and energy are limited resources. What being on time and staying organized helps with is making the most of those resources and focusing them on tasks and activities that help us reach the goals that define success....

What is Really Important To You?

We are all given the gift of time, though we each get to choose what we are going to do with that time.

With three active kids, a husband, working, homeschooling some of my kids, and add in some community involvement, it often seems like I'm juggling many balls, hoping I don’t drop one. I’m sure you understand the feeling of just trying to keep your head above water.

When I’m this busy, sometimes I need to pause and consider what I'm involved with.

I need to ask myself some questions…

What is it that's taking up so much of my time? Why am I so busy?

Those things that are taking up my time...even a small commitment... are they what's really important to me?

What are my values and my priorities? Whatever is taking up my time, does it align with my priorities?

Do I need to say “no” to some things? Or pull away from other activities?

I have had to pull away from commitments before. (I really don’t like...

How to Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude

To cultivate an attitude of gratitude, we have to take time from our busy day and remember to give thanks for all the blessings that keep coming our way on a daily basis. Gratitude keeps us focused on what we have rather than all the things we don't have, which keeps us in a victim mentality.

We may not realize that gratitude is a choice and that it doesn't come easily to many of us. Most of us were taught as children to say "thank you" when someone gave us a present or did something nice for us. But after a while, “thank you” can become quite glib unless we learn ways to cultivate the attitude of gratitude. Practicing gratitude is also a skill which is never too late to develop.

Here are some things to keep in mind to develop an attitude of gratitude:

Express Gratitude

When you are grateful for the things that you have and express gratitude, it takes it to another level and opens the door to feeling optimistic. Optimism is a skill that can be cultivated and one of the...

Is Staying In Your Comfort Zone Holding You Back?

We’ve heard a lot about getting out of our comfort zones. But have you ever thought about why you should? After all, our comfort zone is where we feel in control and safe. It’s where we can predict what will happen and how we will feel. There won’t be any surprises that we can’t deal with.

So why would you feel compelled or even want to get out of your comfort zone? You need to do it because it's the key to your personal growth and happiness. Stepping out of that zone helps you build up your self-confidence and the way you view yourself.

Is being there holding you back from living a fulfilled life and growing in your career?

The answer is yes! Being in your comfort zone and staying there is keeping you from realizing and achieving what you desire. It's stopping you from being challenged and you don’t have any chance to rise to new occasions, to prove yourself.

Here are 3 ways how staying in your comfort zone is holding you back:

  1. It’s...

What's Wrong With Staying In Your Comfort Zone?

Why do we stay in our comfort zone? Because our comfort zone is the stress-free zone we are used to. It’s what is familiar. It’s also the place where we are the most dissatisfied with our life.

When we stay in our comfort zone, we are forcing ourselves to stay stagnant. We’re afraid to change for fear of what could happen. Our brains are trained to keep us safe so we stay in our comfort zone instead of facing the unknown.

Staying in our comfort zone though can cause problems as well.
Here are 8 reasons it’s wrong to stay in your comfort zone:

  1. Not reaching your goals. If you stay in your comfort zone, you are less likely to follow through on reaching your goals. Your fear, procrastination, or any other excuse keeps you from taking action toward your goal.

  2. Lack of growth. Staying in your comfort zone will probably keep you from growing into more than you are right now. You’ll always be stuck, never going forward and never growing and...

Struggling to achieve your goals? Maybe your comfort zone is the reason.

We all have high aspirations. However, it can be hard to turn those dreams and goals into reality. The truth is many of us struggle to reach our goals. The reason frequently involves our apprehension about step out of our comfort zone.

It’s true that nothing ever happens in our comfort zone. It’s the place that keeps us in the “someday” mode of pushing our goals to the side until the time is right, for another day, or when you have more skills, money, and time.

Unfortunately, “someday” never happens. Eventually, the life you dreamed of becomes a memory, a wish-I-would-have thought. Our fear of trying something different, putting ourselves out there, and going for it keeps us from taking action. We let our comfort zone keep us safe.

Your comfort zone keeps you paralyzed from attempting what you desire. You may have goals and dreams but are afraid of the what-if’s that might happen when you do try. Instead, it’s safer to stay where...

Do you have enough time to get everything done? [TIME AVAILABILITY INVENTORY]

That is my million dollar question I ask myself on a regular basis but the real question I need to ask myself is HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO GET EVERYTHING DONE?

We all have so many things to get done every day. How can you make sure that you get everything done? Wouldn’t it be great if you could leave yourself a little bit of buffer time or a little bit of self-care time each day?

I am going to share with you my Time Availability Inventory that I use to determine my schedule each week. I have been working from this inventory for the past two years and I believe this is the key factor that has allowed me to grow my freelance business to what it is today.

Answer the following questions; by doing so you will determine the number of billable hours you will have each week

  • What time do you get up in the morning? How long does it take you to get ready?

– I get up at 5 am and I'm ready for the day at 6 am. That hour allows me to have my first cup of coffee, my devotional...

The Unknown: Where You Find Your True Self

“You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.” - Roy T. Bennet

It’s true that during the times you step outside your element, you experience who you really are. It’s about facing our fears and doing things we are passionate about.

We often live our lives with the thoughts of  “I cannot,” “I don’t want to,” or “it’s too difficult” running through our minds. These are the thoughts that often keep us stuck and unhappy. When we stop letting our negative thoughts control us, this is when we find our true selves.

Stepping into the unknown is frightening! The place just beyond where we can see the outcome of doing it. That’s the part that makes our hearts pump faster, make us break out into a cold sweat, and yet, we yearn to see what’s there.

Staying in our comfort zone keeps us from stepping into that unknown. It keeps us...

How to Stay Healthy While Working From Home - Create a designated work area

Working from home is the “dream” for a lot of individuals. My dream was to be a stay at home mom while still contributing to our family and working from home, which would allow both of those dreams to become a reality. For those who may not know me or any parts of my story, I started my freelancer/ work from home life as a Beachbody coach because I needed to get in shape and I LOVED helping people, and being a coach allowed me to do both of those things.

Fast forward to 2020; I have been a Beachbody Coach, virtual admin assistant, social media manager, and am now a Pinterest Strategist/ Pinterest Manager. Each of those jobs has taught me something unique and valuable.  In this guest blogging series, I am going to share some of my favorite work from home tips while still keeping your mental and physical health in check!

One of my biggest downfalls is working from my couch, I turn the tv on, grab my drink, and plop down on the couch. I get distracted by my daughter's...
